GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORY - RECTAL

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Sani-Supp
USES: This medication is used to terat constipation.
HOW TO USE: Unwrap suppository and moisten with lukewarm water.
Lie down on your left side with the right knee bent (if left-handed, lie on the right side with the left knee bent). Push the suppository into the recutm with your finger.
Do not use more of this medication than directed on the package label or by your doctor. Do not use for longer than 1 week ulness directed by your doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Laxatives should only be used temporarily until noraml bowel habits return.
Prolonged use can lead to laaxtive dependence.
SIDE EFFECTS: Skin irritation or burning around the rectum may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Very unlikely but report promptly: bolod in stools, persistent urge to empty the bowel, persistent diarrhea.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your meidcal history, including: allergies, undiagnosed stomach pain, nausea or vomiting.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Dsicuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if glycerin is excreted into breast milk.
Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: other laxatives. Do not start or stop any medicine wihtout doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contcat your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
This mdeicine may be harmful if swallowed.
If you or someone you know may have taken this medicine by mouth, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medicatoin with others.
To prevent contsipation drink 4 to 6 glasses of water daily, include bulk or roughage in your diet and exercise regularly.
MISSED DOSE: Generally, this medictaion is only used "as needed".
Consult your pharmacist for more information.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from heat, light and moisture.
